70% of Endicott first-year students look out for thier fellow Gulls

See your classmate looking uncomfortable with how someone is dancing on him/her

Speak up to provide a distraction so they can move, “Can you show me where the bathroom is?” “Come meet my friend over here …”

Pledge to watch out for your fellow Gulls and step in when you see something that isn’t right

What is I See, I Speak, I Pledge?

I See, I Speak, I Pledge is a college-wide initiative to promote the idea that individual Gulls have the power to prevent high-risk behavior and harm. I See, I Speak, I Pledge builds on the existing expertise of campus centers and departments at Endicott College and unifies these with consistent messaging and content. This means that while the issue or type of harm may vary in context, the promotion of intervention, the action steps, potential barriers and many resources will be consistent across issue areas. Our hope is that the reinforcement of bystander intervention across campus partners will increase the odds of an Endicott Student intervening to prevent harm as well as create a culture of caring for each other’s well-being.

What is Bystander Intervention?

Bystander Intervention is recognizing a potential harmful situation or interaction and choosing to respond in a way that could positively influence the outcome.
